About paczki

Paczki are made from a rich dough containing eggs, fats, sugar, yeast and can have a variety of fruit or cream fillings. In North America, Paczki Day typically occurs on Fat Tuesday, the last day before the beginning of Lent.  In Poland, Paczki day is celebrated on Fat Thursday.

Ingredients

Dry active or instant yeast Milk Egg yolks Granulated white sugar Butter Vanilla All-purpose flour Oil, for frying Jam or custard, for filling

Mix dough, rise, roll and cut into rounds.

Allow rounds to rise again, then fry in hot oil.

Roll warm paczki in sugar, then fill with jam or custard.
