whisk together the batter

divide batter between 2 cake pans

make the lemon syrup

use a skewer to make a bunch of holes in the cakes

pour the lemon syrup over the cakes

let the cakes soak in the syrup for 3-4 hours

assemble the layers with whipped cream in between

Dust the top of the cake with icing sugar
