A bag of frozen shrimp is your secret weapon for getting dinner on the table fast! Shrimp is such a versatile and affordable ingredient to keep on hand for a quick dinner.
Shrimp is a great addition to a dinner salad, a stir-fry, or pasta, or enjoy it on its own with a flavorful sauce and rice.
Tip! Frozen shrimp can often be added to recipes right from frozen, but if your recipe calls for thawed shrimp, you can quickly thaw them in a big bowl of cold water in about 15-20 minutes. Fill the bowl right to the top with water, and then place a bowl on top of the bowl to keep the shrimp submerged in the water.

Frozen shrimp is typically sold in somewhere around 1 lb. bags (give or take) and is either frozen raw or cooked and then frozen. I prefer to pick up raw shrimp as it is the most versatile (you can always quickly cook it in a skillet for a recipe that calls for cooked shrimp). In most cases will opt for frozen raw shrimp that has been peeled and deveined. Some shrimp, such as Wild Argentinian, Black Tiger or Zipperback, are typically sold unpeeled, but peeling them once thawed is quite an easy process.
