Ingredients and substitutions
A few notes about the key ingredients …
Chicken wings – You can start with fresh chicken wings from the grocery store that you cook up in the oven or air fryer, or try boxed, pre-cooked chicken wings, either plain or breaded. I’m using M & M’s Breaded chicken wings here. I especially like how the sauce sticks to the breading.
All the sauces – You’ll need Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, Honey Garlic Sauce and Teriyaki Sauce. You may have one or more of these in your kitchen right now. If not, they are relatively inexpensive ($3-ish per bottle) to buy, and you will likely find more uses for the sauces in your kitchen, as well.
Ranch dressing – These wings are finished with a drizzle of ranch dressing. Make your own or pick up a bottle at the store.
How to make all-dressed saucy chicken wings
This is a visual summary. Always refer to the complete instructions in the Recipe Card below when making this recipe.

- Cook the wings according to the package directions or refer to the Recipe Tips below for cooking fresh chicken wings. I’m using breaded chicken wings here, but you can use unbreaded chicken wings as well. Once cooked, place the chicken wings into a large bowl.
- Pour the Thai Chili and Honey Garlic sauce mixture over the wings.
- Toss the wings well to coat well, then transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle with the Teriyaki Sauce and the Ranch Dressing to serve.

Recipe tips!
- You can cook fresh chicken wings in the oven in about 1 hour. Dry the wings well, then toss with 1 teaspoon of baking powder per pound of wings and a little salt and pepper. Arrange on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake at 425F, turning every 15-20 minutes, until they are browned and crispy, about 1 hour.
- You can cook fresh chicken wings in an air fryer. Dry the wings well, then toss with 1 teaspoon of baking powder per pound of wings, along with a little salt and pepper. Preheat the air fryer to 400F. Spray the fry basket with cooking spray, then arrange wings in an even layer, skin side up. Spray the top of the wings with cooking spray and air-fry, turning the wings every 5 minutes for about 15 minutes, or until crispy.
- For boxed chicken wings, cook according to the package instructions.
